Hello lovely readers! Hope you all had a wonderful week. While to some this may be the end of the week, for me it's the start of a busy Turkey Week!
I am working today and it's the first 12 hours of my 56 hour work week. Gotta love it!
First I would like to comment on Biggest Loser, for those that watch. I watched last week's episode and this week's episode this week. I must admit, Rebecca looks amazing. She reminds me of Ali. She (Ali) wrote a book that just came out that I plan to buy soon and read. She seems to be one of the main faces for Biggest Loser these days and I am looking forward to reading it. Really what watching these two episodes did was inspire me. I mean Rebecca looks amazing, and while I was watching their brutal workouts and watching them running (on the show) I was like DANA GET REAL, YOU WANT TO BE A RUNNER AND YOU THINK IT'S HARD AND YOU ARE HALF THE SIZE OF MOST OF THESE PEOPLE AND THEY ARE RUNNING. Seriously! So just because it's hard, and I feel like my body was not made to run, is no longer in my excuse vocabulary. So anyway, I can't wait to see the finale. It's always my favorite part. And I think this Wednesday they are having a recap of past contestants. So it will be interesting to see who has done what and who has kept the weight off.
On to the rest of the week...
My original plan to work out on Tuesday after my 12 hour day did not happen. BUT I am happy to say that 3 out of the last 4 days I have worked out!
Wednesday - Went to the gym and did a 40 minute hill interval walk on the treadmill.
Thursday - 2 Mile Start Walking (basically low impact aerobics) workout on Exercise TV with Leslie Sansone. (Doesn't sound like much but it gets your heart pumping!)
Friday - Off day. But I did do tons of non-stop running around for most of the day and didn't slow down until about 10:30pm.
Saturday - Went to the gym - 25 minutes on the elliptical and weights with Back and Chest. (Felt damn good!)
Sunday - To be determined. Supposed to be in the 50s here today which should mean I can go out on my breaks and walk.
My eating has been okay, not 100% but I have vowed to record EVERYTHING I eat. Not so much for calorie count at this point but just for the sake of recording it. This week I did some thinking and when I started working out again and feeling great (amazing how that works, huh!) I decided that for the rest of November I would just make a very honest effort to record everything in my food journal (again, not for the sake of calorie counting but just to get in the habit) AND making a very honest effort every single day to get at least 30 minutes of cardio in. Anything above and beyond is a bonus and if I make it 5 of 7 days/week, I will consider that success. Mostly this is for habit forming purposes. If I can get into the habit of doing it again, then the rest will come naturally.
I was also thinking, for so long and so many times I have TRIED to get healthy, lose weight, start running, etc. I have planned, made charts, tried and tried again, and failed. Why is this? Why when we TRY do we fail? (Obviously that doesn't apply to everyone.) I read about other people's failures as well, and their retries over and over again before they really start. Why does it come so easily to some and is so hard for others when they desire it the same if not more than others?
Perhaps if I don't try as hard...
